Carry the Load
By: Dennis Baker
Series: A Work in Progress
Galatians 6:1-10
Relationships are God’s idea. By nature, they involve more than one person. God’s intent is that we can encourage, love and support one another in this journey we call life. When one walks it alone, it is difficult to bear all the challenge. When two or three walk together, they support one another and share the burden. What happens when we are in a relationship where only one person is carrying the load?

2 Corinthians 10:1-6
Many have commented that we live in a culture that has become coarse and rude. The further we get from God’s plan, the worse off we are. Our relationships suffer as a result. God gives us guidelines for successful relationships. The virtue of gentleness is one of those principles that deepen our relationships. Over the next several weeks we will study some of the guidelines that God gives us for deeper relationships. - Apr 24, 2016Philippines Ministry

James 1:14-15
The shame still exists, but the secret is out. Our country has a serious problem with lust, and so does the church. It's so pervasive that attitudes about pornography are relaxing, but please, don't dismiss it because it's a common struggle, and don't buy into the idea that you are a product of your culture. You are a product of the Spirit of God. Perhaps the hardest lessons to preach are the ones about self-control because they're the bitterest pills to swallow. James makes a great observation in James 1. Sin is not the product of our culture. It's not the product of a malicious God, nor even a cantankerous Devil. Sin is the product of our deepest desires, and those desires will master us, if we do not master them. - Apr 17, 2016Speak At One Another

Proverbs 18:2
"A fool takes no pleasure in understanding - only in expressing his opinion" - Proverbs 18:2. And with that one proverb, we have summed up all the dysfunction about how we communicate in the 21st century. This is why the political process has ground to a screeching halt. It's why your marriage is deteriorating. It's why you feel more and more alone at school. We don't speak to one another, we speak at one another. Tonight, we will take a look at some key principles in good communication. It will improve your business life, your love life, and everywhere else you need to be around people. - Apr 17, 2016Feasting and Fasting

Philippians 3:17-19
I Get it. Getting a lesson from a rotund preacher on gluttony is like getting safety advice from a finger less, wood shop teacher. The good news is this: not all gluttons are fat, and not all who are overweight are gluttons. The bad news is this: gluttony is one sin nobody wants to talk about. And for good reason. This morning we will continue our series on Self Control with a lesson on drunkenness, gluttony, and fasting. - Apr 10, 2016When Happiness Isn’t Enough

Hebrews 10:32
The qualitative difference between people of faith and people without faith is the existence of joy. This is a state of mind that is not dependent on circumstances. When people without faith have challenges, happiness flees. Scripture suggests something different; that we can have joy in the challenges. The difference? Happiness demands something, joy brings something. - Apr 10, 2016What’s Your Legacy?
