The Connections Minister: engaging and involving members of the congregation in the mission and work of God. This position has three key priorities to ensure active participation, spiritual growth, and a thriving, connected community.

 

Children, Youth, & Young Families:

Ministering birth through 12th grade and supporting their families.

The primary responsibility: build meaningful relationships with children, youth, and families, guiding in spiritual development and connection to the gospel.

  • Oversee the children’s and youth programs by fostering Bible knowledge through memorization, song, and a brief devotional on Wednesday nights. The Connections Minister will assess the current efforts in these areas and shape the ministry according to his vision and strengths
  • Collaborating with Education and Young Families teams to coordinate Sunday morning Bible classes
  • Facilitating children-focused events such as Vacation Bible School and Fall Festival.
  • Help in developing useful resources to help families, parents, and children grow in their relationships with God and each other. This might include a curated list of helpful books, links to sermons, and podcasts, articles, and training materials to help navigate life. We are also open to this being a possible creative outlet for developing content to spur relational and spiritual growth in our families.

 

Congregational Ministry Support & Agency:

Supporting ministry leaders by managing designated budgets as well as working to plan, communicate, and promote these ministries and events.

Objective: increasing member awareness, engagement, and growth, fostering beneficial outcomes for the congregation.

  • Identity & Engagement: Update materials to create a stronger inward impact on church members and a more welcoming impression of the congregation’s identity to visitors. Help communicate key aspects of the congregation’s mission, values, and opportunities for involvement within the church community.
    • Focus Ministries: Annually identifying key ministries to prioritize, setting goals, organization, and tracking progress. New Members Ministry: Streamlining the onboarding process and increasing engagement with new members.
    • Visitor Ministry: visitor registration, tracking communication, and ensuring follow-up.
      • The goal is to move visitors into either Bible studies or membership based on their situation.
      • Event/Campaign Follow-up: Tracking and communicating with participants from church events and campaigns.
    • Healing Ministries: Promoting learning opportunities and events related to healing and recovery.
    • Provisions Ministries: Expansion upon established community-oriented ministries including Community Garden, Food Pantry, and Clothing Closet.
  • Consultative Resource: Acting as a resource and support “agency” for ministry leaders, providing guidance and assistance in planning and implementing effective ministries.

 

Ministerial Support:

Working alongside other ministers to support the ministry and congregation.

  • Preaching: Stepping in to preach during church assemblies as needed.
  • Ministerial Support: Sharing in the ministerial responsibilities, including providing support for the congregation and visitors during the week, along with coverage when other ministers are on vacation or unavailable.
  • Content Creation: Writing bulletin articles and developing additional content for church communications as needed.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently.
  • Creative, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset.
  • A passion for ministry and a commitment to fostering a strong, engaged congregation.
  • Capable of stewarding ministry funds and managing budgets with accuracy and transparency

 

Spiritual Requirements:

  • Must be a faithful and active member of the Lord’s church
  • Bachelor’s degree, certification
  • Minimum 3-5 years ministry experience
  • Training and/or experience in education, childhood development, or a related field would be beneficial.
  • Must pass a background check
